When you buy your electric cigarette, there are a huge number of styles available so here are the basics: You have 2 piece styles where the atomizer and cartridge are one unit and 3 piece styles where the atomizer and cartridge are separate. There are 2 types of batteries -- automatic batteries that automatically activate the ecig when you take a puff and manual batteries that activate the e-cig by pressing a button.
Why do I see such a huge variation in the price of electric cigarettes?
Just like everything else, you get what you pay for. There are many low quality, knock offs for sale that don't last very long (battery dies or atomizer wears out) or produce unacceptable amounts of vapor. Be sure to purchase a name brand product with a reputation for quality products and customer service.
How long will the battery last in my electric cigarette?
Electric Cigarette batteries are rechargeable lithium the type. They will generally last about 2-3 cartridges or the equivalent of 2-3 packs of cigarettes. The length of charge is of course different for everyone. As they are lithium ion, you can recharge them even if they are not completely empty to a full charge without adversely effecting the battery.

The Electric cigarette cartridge holds the e-liquid containing the nicotine. The cartridges come pre-filled in various nicotine strengths and flavors. There are too many strenghts to list but some of my favorite are Chocolate, Vanilla, Cappuccino and Strawberry.

An electric cigarette cartridge is equal to approximately 1 pack of cigarettes. This will vary depending on the type of smoker you are and the model of the ecig you buy. When you start to notice that you are no longer getting a decent amount of vapor in your draw, this means your eliquid is running low. At this point, you will replace or refill the cartridge.
What is an electric cigarette "Cartomizer".
This is the cartridge/atomizer combination used in the 2 piece ecig. Some people prefer the cartomizer as each time you replace the cartridge, it is combined with a new atomizer. they are slightly more expensive but those who prefer them say the quality of the draw is better with a new atomizer.
What is E-Liquid?
Ejuice or e-liquid is the nicotine containing solution used in the electric cigarette cartridge. E-liquid comes in various nicotine strengths (from 0mg to 50mg) and is also available in many flavors. Flavors include most popular cigarette brands, fruit, coffee/cappuccino and some alcoholic beverages (pina colada, whiskey etc). Flavored eliquid is a really fun way to experiment with your electronic cigarette.
Can I use an electric cigarettes to help me quit smoking?
